Gryd

Gryd by BuildZoom Data: permit records from all over the country, cleaned up into data a lender can actually trust.
What Wasn’t Working
Most data companies brag about size. Record counts. Maps covered in dots. Gryd already had the records: 400M+ permits, 6M+ contractors, and 2,400+ building departments. But it sold all that as BuildZoom Data, a raw feed, not a real product.
Very different buyers use the same data. An insurance underwriter checking a roof replacement. A lender checking out a contractor. A supplier hunting for active projects. A researcher studying housing trends. Each one shows up with a different question, and none of them had a clear place to start.
So the site had two hard jobs. It had to prove the data is real, with the detail picky technical buyers dig into. And it had to stay simple for a buyer who doesn't want the technical stuff, just an answer. Most data sites pick one and lose the other.

How We Solved It
We let the data do the selling. The site is organized around why people show up, not around product names. Industries, for buyers who think by their field. Use Cases, for buyers who think by their problem. Solutions (Data Explorer, API Access, Bulk Data Delivery), for buyers who already know how they want the data sent to them. A Solution Finder catches everyone else, and one button, Request Access, runs through the whole site.
Pages like Our Data, the Data Dictionary, and the Jurisdiction Index sit right alongside. A technical buyer can dig as deep as they want, without cluttering things up for everyone else.
The writing keeps one rule: plain words, no data industry jargon, and honesty about what the data does and doesn't cover. That honesty is the client's own principle, and it builds more trust than any big coverage claim. The BuildZoom Data name and history stay visible, so years of trust carry over to the new name instead of starting over.

What We Delivered
A full website, planned, written, designed, and built, ready to launch. We mapped out the entire site and wrote every page: the homepage, solution pages, industry pages, use case pages, Our Data, Pricing, About, resource pages, contact, and legal.
Every page came section by section: headings, body copy, card content, proof stats, direction for the images, and the behind-the-scenes text Google needs. Then it was designed and built through to a launch-ready V1.
The Result
Gryd now reads like a real product, not a pile of records. An underwriter, a lender, a supplier, and a researcher each get a path that starts with their own problem. The proof they need sits one click away, not locked behind a sales call.
The BuildZoom Data track record carries forward under the new name. And the site launched clean, with every link live and every page finished.
